 For decades, the record of who owned what land in Anderson County lived only on paper — bound deed books and patent records one flood or fire away from being gone for good.

THE SITUATION

The Anderson County Clerk’s Office held generations of irreplaceable paper — Patent Records, Official Record Books, Deed of Trust Books, and Civil Minute Books — some wavy, skewed, or faded past easy reading, and none of it searchable. Answering a simple title question meant pulling the physical volume off a shelf. Engaged through a prime contractor, iBridge needed to turn all of it into a verified, searchable digital record without losing a single page’s chain of title.

THE APPROACH

iBridge paired AI-assisted image processing with a double-pass, human-verified quality process — scanning on-site and off-site, correcting wavy and skewed pages, recovering missing ones through sequence validation, and enhancing images too light or too dark to read. Every page was then indexed by legal description and book/page name, so the archive could be searched the way a title examiner actually works.

THE RESULT

The project closed out as completed and billed, with a decades-deep paper archive now searchable in seconds instead of physically retrieved from storage. Total project revenue came to $3,032.23 — $1,241.84 for image scanning and $1,790.39 for Legal Description Indexing — for a fully verified, county-wide modernization of the historical record.
